Cellulite Treatment

Cellulite may appear on the thighs, buttocks, stomach, knees or upper arms. It affects only females and it gives the skin a bumpy, poked appearance.

What is Cellulite ?

It is standing fat-cell chambers, separated by vertical walls of connective tissue located in the upper most layer of the inner skin tissue. This, in turn, causes smaller compartments of fat cells that cluster tightly just under the skin. This combination of standing fat-cell chambers and clusters of fat are the very elements that create Cellulite. The rippling effect of Cellulite is caused by fluid retention in the fatty tissue. Not only do fluids cause swelling, but also they carry toxic waste. This can cause blockage of circulation and loss of blood supply that can have disastrous impact on Cellulite formation.

What are the causes of Cellulite ?

    1-Genetic female fat-cell structure.

    2-Swelling of fat cells due to excess fat and fluids.

   3-The breakdown of collagen and elastin connective fibers caused by trapped toxins.

    4-The thinning of connective tissue due to lack of nutrients and oxygen caused by poor blood supply.

    5-Lack of exercise and sedentary habits.

    6-Overweight will cause increase in fat-cell chambers.

    7-Stress promotes the production of fat-cell chambers and toxic oxidants.

Classification

Grade 1
No clinical symptoms, but histopathology detects underlying anatomical changes.

Grade 2
The skin shows pallor, lower temperature, and decreased elasticity after compression or muscular contraction. There is no visible "orange peel" roughness to the skin. Additional anatomical changes are detected by histopathology.

Grade 3
Visible "orange peel" roughness to the skin is visible at rest. This is the "canonical" grade of cellulite. Thin granulations in the deep levels of the skin can be detected by palpitation. All Grade 2 signs are present, with further anatomical changes are detectable by histopathology.

Grade 4
The changes are more visible and become more or less  permanent.
